Back for a limited run, the Red Menace is one of the first, modified, muff circuits I did that combines two of my favorite sounds. The Red Menace is a mix of the early Red Army Overdrive and the 1972 Triangles. The low end has that early, Russian muff grit while the high strings retain that sweet, high-gain, sustain from the Triangle pedals. While adding the mids control I also had to modify the circuit to keep the original punch on chords and the smooth, singing tone on leads.
