The Sonic Black is inspired by a Rat-based circuit that has a slightly, warmer tone and tames some of the high-end. The high side of the tone has been modified to round off some of the treble giving you a warmer tone on the higher strings and leads. Gain at full gives you a punchy distortion that holds its clarity with each string. As you turn the gain down you start to get a cleaner tone while retaining the warmth of the gain.
From 12 o'clock and down yields a great, snappy, spanky overdrive.
