After moving from the soul city of Detroit, MI to Minneapolis in 2007, I quickly realized just how special the Twin Cities music community is. As a percussionist, teacher, producer, and recording engineer I have always carried a simple philosophy. Work hard to do what you love while enriching the local community! My primary goal as a teacher is to get students engaged and to have fun with the material. Learning rhythm and limb independence is an essential part to playing any instrument. Drum lessons are often a great way for beginners to discover their passion for playing music. Drum lessons include learning to read rhythmic notation, rudiments, groove studies, and playing along to your favorite songs. Are you interested in playing the drums in the studio? Do you play in a band and want to prepare for the big session? As a recording engineer, I can help you perform at your best and share my tricks to achieving a great drum sound. My credentials include a B.M. in percussion and a B.S. in music production from McNally Smith College of Music. I am currently performing with Heartbeats, The Fontanelles, and the Twinkie Jiggles Broken Orchestra (including members of Heiruspecs, Ashley Gold). I also engineer records at The Hideaway (Minneapolis), The Terrarium (NE Minneapolis), and Essential Sessions (St. Paul).
