Through-zero and back again. Many decades ago, it is rumored that a certain, infamous “Spectre” created the effect we’ve all come to know as flange by putting a finger on a set of identical tape recorders, slightly altering the speed of one of the recorders. Through-zero flanging is an incredibly rare and inspiring effect, especially in the analog domain. By using two delay lines (as opposed to just one), Spectre can cross over the elusive “zero point.” This through-zero flanger pedal features an all-analog signal path that can be dialed in to create any amount of subtle and wacky flange tones. Spectre also boasts an impressive array of chorus and vibrato tones. Further, every knob and switch is connected to a little digital brain while your guitar signal stays 100% analog the entire time and never gets digitally processed. Since the control of the effect is digital, it opens up unprecedented effects and features that have never been heard or offered in analog stompboxes.
The Zero Point Flanger is the most direct analogy to studio tape flanging that anybody has come up with. It is a REAL TIME effect not a typical modulation effect. That is to say, unlike all other pedal flangers, there is no LFO that presents a predictable up and down swooshing sound, the trite flanger effect that died in the '80s. Thus there is no need for extraneous knobs or switches. It is a straight-foward pedal that has only one powerful control that behaves like pressing and holding your thumb on tape flange.
Lush delay. The Bellwether is a bucket brigade delay pedal with tap tempo. Offering analog circuity and up to 1000ms of lush delays, the Bellwether ushers in a rich soundscape of long and short trails. It can achieve the warm saturated sounds found in delays like the Maxon AD999 and the coveted Boss DM-2. Inversely, the repeats can also be brightened up with the tone control for more pronounced rhythmic delays. The Analog Chorus Engine allows you to manipulate the depth and rate of the chorus effect applied to your trails; creating a deep soundscape of ambient modulation. Set the time and repeat controls low to get that classic western slap back sound or drag them out to achieve shoegaze perfection. Take it all the way to 10 to achieve a self-oscillating delay.
Four tap division options are offered to control the rhythm of your repeats: quarter notes, eighth notes, dotted eighth notes, and triplets. Expression control options are offered to swing either the time or repeat controls back-and-forth. Manipulate the time control to get that Johnny Greenwood oscillation or use it on the fly to manipulate the repeat control; adding long tails to your diamonds.
